The program is designed to elevate your handpan practice to the next level, guiding you on the journey from being a handpan player to becoming a certified MMM Handpan Instructor. 

It encompasses playful learning, authentic expression, and a holistic musical experience.

The method emphasizes individuality, professional development, and a flexible learning path. It aims to connect people through the transformative power of handpan music, fostering a community of skilled and passionate practitioners.

We offer two levels of training to provide the most comprehensive learning and teaching experience:

LEVEL I

Level I is guiding you on your journey from a handpan player to becoming a teacher. Here, we address questions like how you can effectively convey your handpan playing skills to your students. Additionally, you'll learn how to present yourself professionally as both a handpan player and a teacher, effectively marketing yourself to become visible to potential listeners and individuals interested in learning the instrument. Here is an overview of what you can expect in total:

As a certified teacher, you can educate and guide others in learning to play the handpan using the unique approach of the Malte Marten Method.

LEVEL II

Once you successfully complete Level 1, you'll receive an invitation to participate in Level ll - a seven-day Handpan Teacher Retreat. It's the centerpiece of our training as we come together in person for the first time. Here, you will receive expert instruction on all aspects of the method, with a strong emphasis on teaching patiently and professionally.
 This week might be as transformative for your handpan playing and teaching as for your personal path. Our Level I training primarily focuses on individual instruction, while Level II centers on group experiences and is designed to teach you how to organize and lead groups. 
The retreat is rounded off with a teaching test and the awarding of a certificate as a trained “Malte Marten Method Level ll Handpan Teacher”.

Every exercise is undertaken with a playful spirit, enhancing the diversity of your playing and deepening your structural understanding of the instrument. You will learn how to integrate new concepts, patterns, rhythms, and grooves into fluid playing, maintaining your joy of playing, and cultivating one of the essential elements: the flow state.

    The second pillar focuses on authenticity, acknowledging and appreciating the unique qualities of each player. Shaped by individual contributions, this pillar fosters a deep understanding of expression in both playing and teaching the handpan. It creates an authentic connection with music, the audience, and your students, making your journey both personal and genuine.

    The third pillar centers on the holistic integration of knowledge, practical application, and personal growth. Through hands-on experience, you gain not only a comprehensive understanding of playing the handpan but also a deeper connection with the instrument and yourself. This experiential component ensures a well-rounded education, fostering both skill acquisition and personal transformation in the realm of music.
