HEALING FREQUENCIES

WHAT EXACTLY ARE HEALING FREQUENCIES?
First and foremost, I want to say that, for me, the most important frequency is the one that comes from my heart. Every note I play is a direct expression of my emotions, thoughts, and inner experiences. I believe this is what people truly feel when they listen to my music. The handpan is a perfect instrument for this, with its rich overtones creating a deep and layered listening experience.
So when I talk about healing frequencies, I don’t just mean specific numbers or scientific concepts. For me, it’s primarily about the emotions and energy I put into my music and how they are perceived by others.
I’ve never studied the science behind frequencies in depth, but one thing I know for sure: music has the power to touch people on a profound level. If certain sounds help someone feel at peace, centered, or simply offer a moment of calm, then that alone is reason enough for me to incorporate them into my music.

WHAT DO THE NUMBERS MEAN?
Each frequency vibrates at a different speed, which changes how we perceive it. Some frequencies, like 1111 Hz, are very high-pitched and almost piercing, while lower frequencies, like 111 Hz, create a deep, grounding hum.
I’ve never been too focused on the science behind it, but I’ve heard about studies suggesting that water reacts differently to certain frequencies. Since our bodies are mostly made of water, some believe that these vibrations can also influence us emotionally and physically.
Also each frequency is often associated with a different meaning or effect. Personally, I feel a deep connection to 1111 - not because of scientific reasoning, but because the number 1 and 11 have always played a significant role in my life. My life path number (the sum of my birthdate) is 11, and many important moments in my life have happened at times or on dates connected to this number. I don’t try to explain it logically - it just feels right to me.
WHAT FREQUENCIES DO HANDPANS HAVE?
All the handpans I play are tuned to 440 Hz, meaning that the A4 note vibrates at this frequency, and all other notes in the scale are built from there.
Some handpans are tuned to 432 Hz or 444 Hz, and while many people prefer these alternative tunings, I personally stick to 440 Hz because it allows me to play easily with other musicians. Most modern instruments are tuned to 440 Hz, making it the most practical and versatile choice.
A 432 Hz handpan and a 440 Hz handpan can’t be played together in harmony, even if they are in the same scale - the difference in tuning creates a subtle clash that makes it difficult to blend their sounds naturally.

HOW DO I ADD THESE FREQUENCIES TO MY MUSIC?
The healing frequencies in my music aren’t naturally produced by the handpan itself - they’re added in the post-production process.
Let me explain how it works
First, the frequency is generated as a pure tone, and then I shape it using different effects to create a soft, atmospheric sound that blends smoothly with the handpan. If you were to listen to the raw frequency on its own, it might feel sharp or even a little uncomfortable, but once it’s carefully processed, it adds a warm and soothing background layer to the music.
Different frequencies complement different handpan scales. For example, 1111 Hz blends beautifully with my D Aegean handpan, adding an extra dimension to the overall sound.
WHY DID I DECIDE TO INCORPORATE HEALING FREQUENCIES INTO MY MUSIC?
I’ve noticed that many people feel drawn to specific frequencies, and by adding these tones to my music, I can connect with listeners who might never have discovered my sound otherwise.
The soft background drone these frequencies create feels like a natural extension of the handpan’s resonance. The contrast between the long, floating frequency waves and the more rhythmic, percussive nature of the handpan makes for a beautiful balance.
We all experience sound differently. Personally, I don’t feel a strong physical effect from specific frequencies, but I do see how deeply they impact many people. The feedback I get is incredible - listeners tell me that these sounds help them feel calmer, more focused, or even emotionally lighter.
And if it has such a positive effect on people, then for me, it’s absolutely worth experimenting with and continuing to explore.
